It was the first right-hand-drive GTO from the British UDT-Laystall team. The car, painted in an original very light green with green seats, competed in the 1962 season, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Innes Ireland and Masten Gregory. It would go on to score an outstanding victory in the Tourist Trophy at Goodwood thanks to Ireland. In 1963, it was sold to Austrian actor, swimmer, doctor and screenwriter Gunther Philipp, better known as Placheta, who had taken up motor racing. Placheta used the GTO 3505GT, which had meanwhile been repainted red, in 1963 and 1964.
