The S-Class of the 126 series presented in 1979 differed fundamentally from its chrome-flashed predecessor. Considerably more aerodynamic and businesslike in design, the big car naturally impressed with its reliability, durability, perfect engineering and superior driving characteristics. 

The model in the typical colour combination of blue-black body paint ( DB199 ) with beige interior shows the late version of the class 126. This can be recognised by the smoothed "Sacco-Panels", as the lower body areas are popularly called, painted in car colours.
