The Ford Capri Mk2 arrived in 1974 with a revised and larger body than its predecessor, while retaining the attractive basic sports coupe silhouette. The X-Pack performance option was introduced in 1977, with an upgraded engine and wider wheels that required a modified fibreglass body kit to contain the wider wheelbase, giving these vehicles distinctive and easily identifiable flared wheel arches. The square-bodied Ford Granada Mk2 was produced between 1977 and 1985. The car was a commercial success for Ford in the late 1970s, with sales peaking in 1979 at over 50,000 vehicles.
